Sowing Medium
Lightly fertilized peat. pH 5,5.
EC : Emergence to cotyledon expansion = 100µS/cm; Cotyledon expansion to true leaf growth = 150µS/cm; Plug finish EC = 300µS/cm
In plug trays ( 180-384 tray ). It is not necessary to cover the seeds, but to obtain optimum humidity we recommend to cover the trays with a thin layer of Vermiculite.
Cover the trays with plastic and place them in darkness in a growing chamber.
Germination
16 degrees Celcius 18 degrees Celcius. Temperature above 20 degrees Celcius may reduce the germination rate.
Time to germinate
10 - 12 days. When moving the trays from the growing chamber to the greenhouse, it is recommended to cover with shading net in order to keep a suitable humidity and to protect the young plants until they are well established.
Finishing

7-8 weeks in a 308 tray ; 8-9 weeks in a 180 tray;6-7 weeks in a 384 tray
Potting
7-9 weeks from sowing the young plants are ready to be potted. If an outdoor production is requested, we recommend hardening of the young plants in a shaded area before potting. After potting outdoor, cover the plants with a shading net until the plants are well established.

Final spacing 35-45 pots per m2 - depending on pot size
